Macky Sall had a nearly red-carpet welcome by Basirou Diomaye Faye, the president of the Republic of Senegal.  Sall lost the presidential election and migrated to Morocco, his new home.  Macky suddenly needed Senegal to get endorsed and support from the Senegalese people to run for the office of the United Nations' chief.  He now needs Senegal and its votes after acquiring loans that have never made it to parliament for approval, a few months before the general elections.  Who would think the duo would meet, dine, and wine together after incarcerating the very Basirou Ousmane and killing and maiming innocent protesters? All that doesn't matter now, as the top job of the United Nations' Secretary General.  It's all well and great, but where does this leave the promises made to Pastef voters?  What will happen to the increasing disagreement between Sonko and Diomaye with the presence of Macky in the picture?

Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye launched his new political party in Dakar on Saturday, July 25, formalizing his highly publicized break with his former mentor and ex-Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko.
